Visa & Entry

Greece is part of the Schengen Area.

Getting Around Athens

Getting around Athens is easy, affordable and visitor-friendly, with multiple transportation options available.

Metro (Recommended)

The Athens Metro is the fastest and most convenient way to move around the city.

Technopolis – Gazi is easily accessible via:

  • Kerameikos Station (Blue Line – Line 3) → 5-minute walk to Technopolis
  • Monastiraki Station (Blue Line & Green Line) → 10–12 minutes on foot

The metro connects directly to Athens International Airport (ATH) via Line 3.

Tram

The tram mainly serves the coastal areas (Glyfada, Piraeus Riviera) and connects them to the city. It is ideal for visitors staying by the seaside, but the metro is the best option for reaching Technopolis.

Taxis & Ride-Hailing

Taxis are widely available and affordable.

Where to Stay & Eat

We recommend staying in or around the city center for easy access to transport, restaurants and major landmarks.

Best areas for Expo visitors:

  • Plaka – Historic, charming, close to major attractions
  • Omonia – Budget-friendly, excellent metro access
  • Monastiraki – Lively area, walking distance to Technopolis

Staying in these areas allows you to reach the Expo venue in 5–20 minutes by metro or taxi.
